A extended cruise through the Land Down Under is being halted days after the tragic passing of an older woman who was left behind by the vessel on a remote island.

The elderly woman had been trekking on the remote island with other travelers from the cruise ship, but parted ways from the party for a rest. The vessel sailed away leaving her and went back several hours later after the personnel realised the woman was not present.

An extensive rescue mission located her remains the following day.

The CEO of the shipping company announced that travelers and crew on the Coral Adventurer were informed that the remainder of the journey had been terminated due to the "tragic passing and previous mechanical issues".
